Questions for Donors/Recipents to ask each other

QUESTIONS FOR YOUR POTENTIAL DONOR

1)What prompted you to want to be a donor

2)How do you perceive the role of a donor

3)Any Known family History of medical problems

4)If donor has children

4A)Your period has returned to a regular cycle?

4B)When do you anticipate to stop breast feeding?

5)Where are you from/ where is family tell us a little about yourself

6)The actual cycle will involve seeing Dr possibly every 2 days for scans to monitor the follicle development  for the week before egg pickup - will this be OK?

7)Transport to get to and from appointments. (obviously if donor is from another state then further questions will need to be asked such as arranging flight & accommodation etc...)

8)If you have children do you have someone to look after them or would you like our assistance with that what at appointments etc...

9)Drugs – daily injections into the stomach, are you OK doing this?

10)Are you aware & how do you feel about possible side effects of the medications such as headaches/ mood swings

11)The risk of OHSS Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome due to the medication/FHSS

12)Your Support network

13)How do you feel juggling your own family/work & other commitments during this process

14)Costs Do you have private health insurance?

14A)If yes would you be prepared to use it and we just pay the Gap/excess IE: hospital Day surgery. All out of pocket costs we pay for- parking/travel costs etc you provide us with receipts and we reimburse you/ unless we are with you then we would pay on your behalf.

1.  Number of cycles you would like to do?

5. What would you do if the foetus was diagnosed with an abnormality & how would you feel about termination of that pregnancy?
